Emma qualified with a Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Teaching from Victoria University in 2009.

For many of the years since then Emma has taught locally in a community-led, non-profit preschool. She brings with her, the experience of working in a centre with a core philosophy of nature-based learning. Emma also has experience working with infants and toddlers in a centre that valued the RIE philosophy of respectful teaching, as well as raising her own three children now aged 10, 8 and 3.

Emma highly values respectful relationships and strong communication, and has a passion for supporting all tamariki, parents and whānau to ensure that their voice is heard and valued.
